What does "coming out" mean?
Coming out is the process of accepting and acknowledging one's own sexual orientation or gender identity. It also includes the process of telling people about one's sexual orientation or gender identity. A condition of secrecy or cautious privacy regarding one's sexual orientation is referred to as being closeted.
