This depends on the type of sex had. Vaginal and anal sex carry similar risks, due to the high surface area and the chance of small tears in the inner cavity. However, in heterosexual pairings, women are at a greater risk at getting an STI than men. Persons who had multiple sex partners may have a higher risk to transmit HIV.
