What if I or my partner have a urinary/bowel incontinence?

Firstly, communicate that this is a possibility with your partner so that this isn't a surprise if it does happen. This can also help ease any anxiety about how your partner might react. Prepare yourself for any necessary clean up by having towels nearby and protect surfaces with an underpad if possible. Also try to limit your fluid intake prior to sex and empty your bladder beforehand. Urinating and bowel movements can happen during sex even with people without any issues of incontinence so being prepared is always a good idea. Strengthening your pelvic floor muscles with exercise is also an option. Consult with your doctor or a sexual therapist on what might work best for you.
