Contraception
What is a contraceptive sponge?
The contraceptive sponge is a polurethane disk shaped foam which contains spermicide in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Before having intercourse, the sponge needs to be inserted deep inside the vagina so that it covers the cervix. This sponge has to be disposed of after it is used. The sponge protects against pregnancy but not against STD's.
