Is it hygienic to not shave your pubic area?

How you decide to groom your pubic hair is your own personal decision. However, pubic hair does serve as a protective buffer from both friction and bacteria, so it can actually be less hygienic to completely shave yourself bare. It is recommended to trim your pubic hair but shaving or waxing is not necessary to be hygienic. Washing your pubic area regularly with unscented soap and water should be enough to deter any unwanted smells.
