Should I wash my penis/vagina before having sex?

This very much depends on what you have done throughout the day and on you and your partner's preferences. If you do decide to wash yourself, use simple unperfumed soaps and water. It is not advisable to wash the inside of the vagina, as this can damage the balance of pH and healthy bacteria that is in there. You may wash the vulva, the area around the opening of the vagina. If you are washing your penis, then don’t forget the base of the penis and the testicles. If you have a foreskin, then gently pull it back to clean underneath it.
