Should I talk to my teenagers about sex and drugs?

Yes, it is recommended that parents talk with their teenagers about such behaviours. Some parents might worry that asking about or talking about these behaviours will give our teenagers the idea to try them out but, conversely, one could also argue that they might hear about sex and drugs from another party, with you having no idea what information they were given. Making sure both you and your teenager are informed about the risks involved in underage sex or drug use can help you navigate how you and your teenager should handle these situations. Teenagers are naturally going to be curious but if they are properly informed about their other options then they are much more likely to make the best decision for themselves.
