Elderly & Sex
I am not comfortable with my new body image. I worry that my partner won't find my body attractive now.
As a result of ageing ,the body goes through some physical changes. These changes might affect one's body image and, in turn, one's self-esteem, resulting in them not feeling attractive. This struggle imposes struggles on your intimate moments with your partner. It is important to remember that even though your body has changed, your vitality, sensuality and desire to love will not change over time. Intimacy and passion is a vital part of your life and your relationship with your partner. Sensuality only changes over time but never fades. Some tips that might help include treating yourself, engaging in new activities or hobbies, and focusing on the good things. Sexual intimacy is there to give and receive pleasure, and one should keep enjoying these moments for as long as possible.
Some people may not feel comfortable with the way their bodies are aging. They may feel that their new wrinkles, grey hairs, or weight gain make them unattractive. They may also harbour these feelings about their partner. These feelings have an effect on our ability to seek out and enjoy intimacy.
If you, or your partner, are struggling with your self-image, try to remember that your vitality, sensuality, and desire to love don’t fade as the years progress. Passion, about yourself and your partner, is still an important part of your life. Being attractive and sensual does not fade with age, it just changes.
