Sexual Dysfunction
What is Non Consummation?
Non consummation is when no intercourse takes places in a committed relationship such as marriage. Non consummation does not apply when partners choose to abstain for sex, and does not apply only to married couples. Non consummation becomes a dysfunction when one or both of the partners are distressed by the lack of sexual contact. If partners do not initiate sexual intercourse after a legally binding relationship, in that case, the relationship can be nullified or any potential problems explored. Non consummation is different from an asexual relationship.
