Why do I like to be humiliated during sex?

Sexual arousal resulting from humiliation is a sort of sexual masochism, which is the umbrella word for the phenomena of getting sexual pleasure in exchange for sexual pain. Although most people associate masochism with physical pain, it also includes psychological struggles such as shame.

Research indicates that erotic humiliation is more common than we may think, with a particular study having more than 70% of participants exhibiting a desire for at least one aggressive or humiliating sexual act, and about half of the participants exhibiting a desire for at least three acts. As to why a person may enjoy this kind of practice, this can vary from person to person. Some suggest that it can be learned behaviour, or an escape. A learned behaviour could be such as achieving a powerful orgasm while being humiliated, and then therefore this becomes a desire. On the other hand, others may be attracted to such sexual practice as it frees them from the thoughts and struggles of daily life.
