Can I get a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) from sex?

Yes. Since women have a shorter urethra than men, it is easier for bacteria to get in the bladder.Apart from this a woman's urethra is closer to the anus, therefore it is easier for bacteria to get into the urethra. During sexual intercourse, thrusting can introduce bacteria up the urethra and into the bladder, thus it is increases the chance of getting a UTI.
