How should I clean my baby's penis?

This can be dependent on whether you chose to have your child circumcised or not. If you choose not to circumcise, then all you need to do is gently wash the outside of the penis with mild soap and water. Do not attempt to pull back the foreskin when your child is still a baby. At this point in time, the foreskin is still fused to the head of the penis. At around 3 years old it will naturally unfuse and you can teach your child how to wash under the foreskin themselves, using just plain water. If you choose to circumcise your child, then you have to be aware of the healing process. This should be explained to you by your child’s doctor. After 7-10 days, the circumcised penis should be fully healed and you can wash your child as you would any child, with mild soap and water.
