Sexual Dysfunction
What can cause Sexual Dysfunctions?
Causes of sexual dysfunctions vary. They can be: religious beliefs; cultural and social attitudes towards sex and sexuality. One's physical, psychiatric, and mental health can effect one's sexual function directly, or indirectly. Examples are: eating disorders, SSRIs, and alcoholism. One's own sexual knowledge, body image, confidence, and history can effect how one lives with sexuality, which might cause a sexual dysfunction. Examples are: an ex partner who was critical of one's sexual technique, or a person who feels they are not attractive enough to deserve to be sexual with their partner. One's current, or past relationships, and erotic satisfaction can also lead to dysfunction. Another main cause of sexual difficulties is lifestyle choices, such as drug use, over-working, under-sleeping, and over eating.
