Sexual Orientation
What does it meant to be queer?
Can be used to describe yourself or a community. Reclaimed from its previous negative connotation, the name is prized by some for its defiance, by others for its ability to encompass the whole community, and by yet others for its suitability as a phrase to represent their more fluid identities. Queer is still occasionally hated among the LGBTQ+ community, despite its history as a negative or disparaging term for homosexual individuals. This word should only be used when self-identifying or citing someone who self-identifies as queer, due to its many implications.
