Menstruation
At what age should I get my first period?
People usually get their first period at around 12 years old, as this is around the time when puberty starts. Periods usually start around two years after the first signs of puberty, which include breast development and hair growth on the armpits and the pubic area. However, it is perfectly normal to get your period as early as 8 or as late as 16. If you still haven't gotten your first period after you turn 16 years old, then there may be an underlying condition that needs to be brought to the attention of your doctor.
