Menstruation
Is it normal to have brown vaginal discharge two weeks before your period?
Vaginal discharge is fluid that is naturally secreted by the body. It has important functions such as lubricating the vaginal tissue and preventing infections. The texture and colour of vaginal discharge are likely to change across one’s menstrual cycle. When the colour of the discharge is brown, it is usually because the body is secreting old blood and preparing for one’s period.
Hence, brown vaginal discharge two weeks before your period is usually normal. However, if you are experiencing other symptoms such as pelvic pain, burning sensation whilst urinating and fever, it would be best to speak to your family doctor or gynaecologist.
