Can I get pregnant whilst on my period?

Yes, it is possible to get pregnant while you are on your period. This is because ovulation - the release of an egg from the ovaries into the fallopian tube - happens based on your cycle, which can be shorter or longer than the typical 28 days, leading to potential overlap between your ovulation and your period. Bleeding can also occur whilst you are ovulating, commonly being mistaken for the beginning of a period. The chances might be much lower, but it is still possible, which is why you should use a condom while having period sex.
