Reproduction
What is third party reproduction?
Third-Party Reproduction refers to when the couple or individual chooses to include another person to help them reproduce. Third-Party Reproduction consists of a donation of eggs, sperm or embryos from another person, apart from the couple, and Gestational-carriers, also known as Surrogate Mothers. Surrogacy, also known as traditional Gestational carrier, is when another woman carries the already fertilized embryo in her womb for the entire gestational period. Most commonly, the Gestational Carrier is the woman who carries the pregnancy to term but does not have a genetic link to the fetus. However, the Gestational Carriers arrangement also includes the donation of the women's egg. Third-party Reproduction can become emotionally and legally complex, and so all individuals involved must be emotionally and legally protected.
